Let’s explore expressive portraiture! Looking to dive deeper into watercolor painting? Come visit my personal studio space and we can take a journey through the process of creating exciting portraits and compositions. Everything from color and value to ideas about abstraction, shapes, and using water in different ways that you can adapt and work into your art!

LOCATION: 926 Western Ave, Glendale, CA 91201

My studio is D11, located within the Cope Studios building (Suite A).

DATE/TIME: FRIDAY, JUNE 12th, 2026 11am- 6pm

NUMBER OF SPOTS AVAILABLE: 8

Workshop Outline: SINGLE DAY WORKSHOP (the 3 days are NOT connected)

11am-12pm (watercolor portrait demonstration with instruction, using photo reference)

12pm-1pm (guests begin individual portraits, using their own photo reference)

1pm-2pm (lunch break- guests are welcome to break for lunch or stay and paint. I will be available).

2pm-3pm (guests continue on individual portraits, as I work with them one on one, as needed for questions and instruction).

3pm-4pm (second watercolor demo focused more on abstraction and experimentation)

4pm-6pm (guests work on their own individual portraits, as I answer any questions and provide assistance)

SUPPLY LIST TO BRING:

  • A minimum of 2 sheets of watercolor paper (9×12” inches recommended but any dimension is great)

  • 2 portrait photos of a person (for reference- additional printed samples will be available if needed)

  • Small size round watercolor brush (#4 recommended but other similar small sizes work)

  • Medium size round watercolor brush (#14 recommended but other similar sizes work)

  • Watercolor paints (red, blue, yellow…etc) specific brands are not required but I use Michael Harding.

  • drawing pencil (graphite recommended but not required) I mainly use a 2H or 4H pencil.)

SUPPLIES PROVIDED:

  • Water container

  • Flat table/surface

  • Masking tape if needed

  • Paper towels

PARKING is available in the marked areas in the photos and there is additional street parking under the Western Ave. bridge.

I’m SO excited to meet new artists and talk shop, throw around art/painting ideas and connect! It’s been 5 years since I stepped away from giving workshops and I’m really looking forward to returning :) THANK YOU!!
